Haryana CM announces hike in salaries of employees engaged through employment company

In an official announcement on Monday, the Chief Minister of Haryana, Saini, declared a significant salary hike for 1,19,861 employees under the Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam (HKRNL). These employees belong to level 1, 2, and 3 categories. The increment will be an 8% increase in their salaries, effective from July 1.

Established under the Companies Act, 2013 on October 13, 2021, HKRNL aims to provide contractual manpower to all government entities in Haryana in a transparent, robust, and equitable manner. It will function as the authorised agency for providing contractual manpower in the state.

As per the statement, there are 71,012 employees in Level 1, 26,915 in Level 2, and 21,934 in Level 3. The Chief Minister mentioned that reservation benefits have been provided to Scheduled Caste and Backward Class youth among the employees hired under the Nigam.

During the previous Congress government’s tenure, contractual employees were allegedly exploited, and contractors denied EPF and other benefits. Contractors were also said to have the authority to terminate these employees at will without providing any benefits under labour fund schemes. However, under the present state government, contractual employees receive timely salaries and benefits.

In his announcement, the Chief Minister noted that the HKRNL was formed to protect employees from exploitation. He emphasized that now, the required skilled manpower for any department or private establishment is supplied through the Nigam. He also highlighted that if an employee faces any unfortunate incident, the present state government offers financial aid and stands with them to provide assistance.
