B8RE, a real estate company, has been appointed as joint agent alongside Gerald Eve by developer Glenbrook, to market Meridian 6, a 625,000 sq ft employment park located on the M6 motorway in Wigan. This appointment follows Glenbrook’s recent success in securing detailed planning consent for the 40-acre development, which is one of the last strategic sites in Wigan, part of the South Lancashire Industrial Estate (SLIE) Primary Employment Area.
Steve Johnson, director at B8RE, expressed his excitement about this new instruction, stating that Wigan is a well-established industrial, manufacturing, and logistics location. He also mentioned that this is the first time B8RE has advised Glenbrook, and they are aware of the developer’s diligent preparations for the site’s development. The site offers various alternative development layouts, and B8RE is encouraged by Glenbrook’s flexibility in offering leasehold and freehold turnkey deals on all unit sizes, as well as land sales on larger plots.
Guy Butler, director at Glenbrook, shared that since planning was secured, they have been working on detailed plans for the site infrastructure to ensure ample power supply and aligning the funding for deliverability. They are making significant progress and aim to appoint a contractor over the summer, with access to the site expected in the third quarter of the year.
Meridian 6 is designed by AEW Architects, and Gerald Eve is the planning consultant for the project. SGi Consulting Engineers is responsible for the civil and structural engineering aspects. Interested parties can sign up to receive updates on South West business news.
