* Momentum Leisure, a premier developer in the leisure and entertainment industry, has expanded its presence in Poland by unveiling Majaland Gdańsk, its third theme park. The new park, opened on the 29th of June, is housed in a 20,000-square-meter space which includes 25 attractions, most of which are indoors. Majaland Gdańsk is near the popular tourist city of Gdańsk in Poland.
* The family-oriented destination offers rides, attractions, and entertainment based on popular characters such as the Smurfs from the Peyo Company, Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Studio 100’s Maya the Bee. Momentum Leisure’s CEO, Wouter Dekkers, expressed great excitement about the new venture, stating: “I am excited and honored to guide Majaland’s next phase in Poland. Our goal is to enhance our parks with compelling family entertainment and attractions.”
* Momentum Leisure was established in 2008 with the acquisition of over 200 hectares of land in Poland and embarked on its first theme park – Majaland Kownaty – in 2018. Through the years, the company has managed to invest approximately €150 million in entertainment projects. With plans set to be a significant player in central and eastern Europe’s leisure market, Momentum Leisure was announced to develop a theme park and a water park adjacent to the Europa Centralna shopping centre in Gliwice, Poland.
* Construction on the new theme park will initiate soon, after obtaining the necessary permits, and Majaland Gdańsk will reportedly be Momentum’s fourth theme park in Poland and its second water park. By 2030, the company aims to have ten functional parks in the region. The Majaland parks are managed by Plopsa Group, the theme park division of Studio 100.
