Zapata Computing and KPMG UK collaborate to create risk and operational modeling

Zapata Computing Holdings Inc., an industrial generative AI company, and KPMG UK, a renowned audit, tax, and advisory services firm, have successfully collaborated on a project to optimize the compliance models of an international insurance company. The project aims to revolutionize the insurance firm’s risk, operations, and compliance modeling using Zapata’s analytics, optimization, and AI capabilities.

KPMG’s actuaries, in collaboration with Zapata’s data engineers, are converting one of the client’s compliance models, which includes tens of millions of inputs, into an optimized solution using innovative algorithms. This new approach is expected to reduce the computing time by over a thousand times, maintaining accuracy, and allowing the client to meet compliance requirements more efficiently.

In this new setup, the client will submit approximations in advance instead of waiting for the actual finished calculations. Christopher Savoie, CEO and Co-founder of Zapata AI, expressed his satisfaction with the partnership, stating that KPMG UK is a trusted ally in helping clients manage risks, comply with regulations, and enhance business performance.

Savoie also noted that the transformative results achieved with this insurance client are applicable to any company facing challenges in managing and maintaining high complexity, high resource computational models on legacy systems and architectures. He emphasized that Zapata AI is proud to partner with KPMG UK to combine their technical and domain expertise and thought leadership to deliver client value.

Feargal De Burca, a Partner at KPMG UK, also praised Zapata’s performance, stating that they have shown remarkable results in streamlining large, complex model workflows for their insurance client. De Burca believes that Zapata’s expertise and technological solutions have the potential to transform the way financial services and insurance companies operate by delivering efficiencies and driving innovative digital transformation programs.
